About
I trained at the Central School of Art in London, earning a BA (Hons) in Ceramics. My career initially led me into interior design, and I later specialised in creating handmade tiles, supplying exclusive ranges to Fired Earth, independent stores, and private clients. For over 20 years and with the help of a great team I’ve run my interiors retail store in Muswell Hill, London, though my heart has always remained with clay.
I’ve now returned to my first love: making functional, expressive pieces by hand and embracing the joy of a craft that has always felt deeply familiar. My garden studio in East Sussex sits on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, with the South Coast just beyond. These landscapes, along with a lifelong fascination with trees, lichens, and pebbles, continue to inspire the forms, textures, and palettes of my work.
I work in stoneware, a high-fired clay that is durable, grounded, and naturally tactile. Each piece is either thrown or hand-carved, allowing its form to guide its own character. My glazes are carefully developed to echo the colours and surfaces found in nature, evolving with the seasons as I explore new finishes and techniques. Every item I create reflects the quiet beauty of the natural world and the enduring pleasure of a craft that has always been my home.
